Breast Cancer Three-Day
As a survivor I thank you,
but I don't know a group doing it, and I don't think I could do it.
Good luck,
Edie

I have done the 3-day the last 3 years. DO IT, it is a wonderful experience. I am not doing it this year, as the fundraising minimum went up to $2300 and I also do the 300 mile bike ride for Make a Wish, and cannot fund raise for both. Just join a team, they do not have to be bariatric people. I am sure you will find lots of WLS on the entire journey. I did. Good luck, the 3-day is life changing, you will make life long friends. Good Luck
God bless you, Edie, for being a survivor! I'll add you to my reason for walking. My sister-in-law is also a survivor. I have a very old, dear friend in Philadelphia whose new bride just had a relapse that attacked her spine and ribs. It's terminal. His 34 -year-old daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and just recently it aggressively attacked her ribs, pelvis and hips. She is scheduled for hip and pelvis surgery next week in hopes that she'll be able to walk again.
Danielle, it's the Susan G. Komen for the Cure 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer. Participants raise money for cancer research; each participant this year needs to raise $2,300 in donations. Three days and 60 miles of pure love!
Thanks, navymom, for the support! I know I can do this.

All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press
on to your destination.

on to your destination.

Elaine,
I know allot of people who have metastasized, many of them are still around fighting. Stage 4 is not a death sentence anymore. Make sure they research all the new treatment options, doctors are not always willing to stick his/her neck out and swerve from the "gold standard". My hubby did a ton of research, argued w/ my docs, got my treatment altered and I'm happy to say that in April I will be a 5 year survivor. Not bad considering I was given a 30% chance of survival when I was diagnosed.
Pass on my prayers to your friends,
Edie
